How to export your trades from MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView
PropPassCheck tests your real trades against every prop firm's rules. To do that it needs a file of your trades: a strategy tester report or your account history. Here is how to get one from each platform.
MetaTrader 5
Backtest: run your Expert Advisor in the Strategy Tester. When it finishes, open the Backtest tab, right-click in the report and choose Report, then save it as HTML or Open XML (Excel).
Account history: open the Toolbox, go to the History tab, set the period you want, right-click and choose Report, then HTML or Open XML.
Tip: MT5 report files are saved in a format some text editors show as unreadable. That is normal; upload the file as it is.
MetaTrader 4
Backtest: after the test finishes, open the Report tab in the Strategy Tester, right-click and choose Save as Report.
Account history: in the Terminal window, open Account History, right-click and choose All History (or a custom period), then right-click again and choose Save as Report.
cTrader
Backtest: in cTrader Algo, open the backtest's History tab, right-click and choose Export to Excel.
Account history: open the History tab, click Statement and choose Excel. Keep the closing time, net profit, commission and swap columns.
TradingView
Open the Strategy Report for your strategy, select the List of Trades tab, and click Download. TradingView exports only the tab you are viewing, so make sure List of Trades is selected. The file is a CSV.
Strategy builders
Strategies made with visual strategy builders usually compile to MT4 or MT5 Expert Advisors, so backtest them in MetaTrader and export the report as above.
TradeLocker, DXtrade and others
Some platforms have no history export. Ask your broker or prop firm for a statement as a CSV or Excel file, or copy your trades into a spreadsheet.
Any spreadsheet works
PropPassCheck reads CSV and Excel files with a profit column. A close time (date) column is strongly recommended, because daily limits and the real-order replay need dates. Commission and swap columns are added in if present.
Your file stays on your device
Files are read in your browser and never uploaded to our servers. When you are ready, open the test centre and drop the file into Step 1. Before you do, it is worth reading how to backtest a strategy for a prop firm challenge.
