Trading hours, days and time zones

Updated 28 Oct 2026

Hours and days

In section 5, tick Only open trades between set hours and choose a start and end time. Untick any days you don't want to trade. These only stop new trades: a trade already open keeps its stop and target.

To close everything before the weekend, use Close everything on Friday in section 6 (many firms don't allow trades over the weekend).

Which clock?

PlatformTimes use
MT5 and MT4Your broker's server time (most brokers and prop firms use Eastern European time, two or three hours ahead of UTC)
TradingView and cTraderThe time zone you choose in the Export box
NinjaTrader 8NinjaTrader's own time zone (Tools, Options, General)

The trading day used by the daily loss guard resets at the hour you set in section 6. Set it to match your firm: most reset at midnight server time, some at 5pm New York time.

Tip: if your session hours look shifted by a few hours after exporting, the time zone is the cause. Check the server time on your platform's Market Watch clock.
